The police registered an FIR against the nurse of the hospital. The protesters broke glasses inside the hospi tal, which also caused injuries to some of them. This led to tension among other patients and their relatives.
The deceased was identified as Shivam Kumar of Dashmesh Nagar, Gill road. His mother Preeti Rani said they came to the hospital on November 18 and the doctor kept them in the dark since the first day. She alleged that the doctor admitted Shivam saying that there is pus in the throat and they will have to operate. However nothing came in the report, she added.
She claimed that till Friday , Shivam was fine and the doctors also said he would be sent home in a day or two. She added on Friday , doctors also gave him a unit of blood.
But at 8:15 am on Saturday ,a nurse injected some medicine in the glucose bottle and after he started bleeding from his nose, she alleged.
Preeti alleged that the nurse injected extra volume of the medicine. Further she alleged that the nurse injected the medicine, but the doctor should also be held responsible.
Further she alleged that no doctor of nurse checked the boy for around 20 minutes despite repeated calls were made to the owner by the nurses. This delay cost his son's life, she claimed.

Preeti alleged that when they had admitted the child, the hospital staff was creating problem while accepting old currency , after which they had to arrange smaller denomination notes for the treatment. Soon after getting the information, other family members and relatives started gathering at the hospital and damaged windows in different parts of the hospital. The protesters got more furious after they allegedly saw some staff members laughing at them on the first floor of the hospital.
Panic gripped the patients and the visitors as the protesters went to the top floor of the hospital while abusing and raising slogans against the hospital staff. The patients locked their doors and even the hospital staff ran to the rooms to save themselves. Refuting all the allegations, hospital owner Dr Baldeep Singh said the nurse who has been accused of negli gence has been working in the hospital for a long time and there was no negligence her part.
Further he said he was there in the hospital checking other patient, because of which he was not able to check the boy.
However, another MD present in hospital was asked to check the boy immediately and there was no negligence on their part, he added.
Dr Baldeep said the death took place due to bleeding. He said medical ailment can also be a cause of death. The boy's platelet count was low. But exact reason would be clear after the postmortem.
Meanwhile the situation remained tense outside the hospital and deputy commissioner of police Dhruman Nimbale reached the spot along with other senior officials. Congress leader Kulwant Singh Sidhu also reached the spot and tried to pacify the protesters.
Nimbale said police have registered an FIR against nurse Kamlesh who allegedly gave double dose to the boy. Further he said no FIR has been registered against the doctor yet. A case has been registered under Section 304-A of IPC.
Asked about protesters' demand of registering a case against the hospital owner, DCP Nimbale cops are waiting for the postmortem report and if any negiligence on the part of doctors was found, action would be taken accordingly.
